Teaching aims and demands:

Teaching methods: task-based approach
Teaching task: 1. Write articles about students’ own favourite shopping malls.
2. Have a discussion in groups, and ask some Ss to report which presents are suitable for boys and which ones are suitable for girls.
Teaching aids: tape recorder
Teaching procedures:
Ⅰ. Warm-up (presentation)
Ask the student on duty to give us a short report about the winter holiday or the Spring Festival.
Ⅱ. Listening
Listen to the tape, answer my question, What does Hobo want Eddie to do? Help the Ss to answer.
Listen again, Ss read after the tape recorder, then do some True or False exercises. Check the answers with the whole class.

Have a discussion in groups of six, ask the Ss to report which presents are suitable for boys and which ones are suitable for girls. Each group will choose a student to tell us what kind of presents his/her group choose for boys or girls and tell us Why?

Ss read the articles by yourselves. Match the English meanings with the new words. Explain the words. Do the Exx on Page 73 and 74. Ss ask and answer questions in pairs. Ask some pairs to practice in class.
